A Corporate client in the Chelmsford area of Essex needed to move a marine engineering division to a newer, more conducive location about 5 miles away.

The Project

Following several meetings with the Project Manager and his team, a plan was agreed and with circa 250 people to move, this had to work for the client seamlessly…and it did.

The project was phased over a period of 11 days, with a complete pre-planned programme including the supply, delivery and collection of the necessary crates. Crates were also delivered over a planned programme, and collections were made on a daily basis in order to reduce cost to the client.

The office relocation works were carried out mainly at evenings or at nights to make transportation very easy with little traffic.

There were several additional ‘testing’ areas that were moved during the same period, some locally and others to the South Coast and the Isle of Wight.

Company Moves used a variety of vehicles from 3.5t Luton vans to 18t lorries for various elements, and to take into account the size and weight of the kit.

The Outcome

A worthwhile project that kept between four and ten staff busy for the duration. The client has given us very positive feedback, as have his staff.
