The BAR has several different types of Membership available for companies that provide removals and storage services, both in the UK and abroad. In addition it offers Membership to individuals with an interest in the industry and an Affiliate Membership for companies who are not engaged in removals and storage activities but who provide goods and services to the industry. Membership types
BAR UK National Group Membership
The BAR Membership is a prestigious and pivotal category within the British Association of Removers (BAR), encompassing businesses in the United Kingdom that operate within the removal industry. International Associates Membership
International Associate Membership is open to non-UK businesses trading in the removal industry. Briefly, all International Associate companies must either: Be a member of FIDI OR be a member of their own national association’s recognised international/overseas moving group. Where a recognised association does not exist, applicants must provide references from two BAR Overseas Group members (UK based companies).

BAR Individual Membership

Overseas Group Membership
The BAR Overseas Group consists of over 50 expert UK removal companies who specialise in every aspect of overseas removals and relocations and are part of the wider BAR Membership. All Overseas Group companies must either possess FAIM, or BS 8564 or equivalent or higher approved externally audited standard.

Commercial Moving Group Membership

Self Storage Group Membership
The BAR Self Storage Special Interest Group represents a unique segment within the BAR membership, where professional removal companies also venture into the self-storage industry.

BAR Young Movers Group Membership
BAR Young Movers is a group open to all employees of BAR Members or Affiliates aged under 40 years of age. The group was relaunched in 2017 with the intention of encouraging learning, networking and socialising between young people within the removals industry, helping them set up business relationships that will potentially last throughout their careers.
