Our conference in Stratford-upon-Avon, once again provided a packed and varied programme with business workshops and speakers selected to enlighten delegates on the issues of the day with a specific focus on the changing environment in the market place that is the removals industry. Our key note speaker, Steve Cunningham, had an incredible story to tell which was, for different reasons, hugely informative, thought provoking and entertaining in equal measure.

We would of course like to thank all of our speakers who gave their time to be with us at our conference and of course to all of our Sponsors and Exhibitors who continue to provide invaluable support and without whom the event would simply just not be the same.

Our social programme this year included a visit to the RSC and a look behind the scenes at ‘The Other Place’ where all of the back stage work and planning is done, a gin tasting cruise on the river and a party night at Cox’s Yard, a venue adjacent to the hotel, where delegates really could ‘let their hair down’ and enjoy a fun filled evening!

We also staged a vehicle display and procession of ‘Removals Trucks Through The Ages’ through the streets in the centre of the town, an event that showcased our Association and the industry at large, and one that attracted lots of attention from the media and public alike.

We celebrated the success of the businesses that have shown outstanding excellence in our Commercial, Domestic and Overseas Mover of the year competitions. The winners being Universal, Alexanders and Bournes respectively, and they received their awards at the gala dinner on Saturday evening.

Our annual conference is certainly a highlight in our calendar as we very much look forward to meeting old friends and of course making new ones. The mix of business and social events ensures that we can learn and exchange ideas with peers and have great fun at the same time.
