Here is your weekly commercial drivers travel update, which sets out changes and events that could affect your planned operations:

Until 18:00 on Sunday 27 August, there are northbound lane closures on Putney High Street at the junction of Putney Bridge approach. This due to Thames Water works.

Central London
Until 23:00 on Sunday 27 August, Whitehall/Parliament Street is closed southbound at the junction with Horse Guards Avenue. There is no access to Parliament Square or Bridge Street. This is for utility works.

Kidbrooke Village
Due to unexpected structural issues, the closure at Kidbrooke Park Road will now be extended until Thursday 28 September. The road is closed to all traffic between Weigall Road and Old Post Office Lane.

Until early November, Upper Street is closed southbound between Liverpool Road and City Road. There is also no access from Liverpool Road. This is for Thames Water works.

Tunnel closures
The following tunnels will be closed for maintenance works over the next week:
• A40 Hanger Lane Tunnel westbound (Park Royal): From 22:00 Thursday 24 to 05:00 Friday 25 August
• A40 Hanger Lane Tunnel eastbound: From 22:00 Friday 25 to 05:00 Saturday 26 August

City of London
To facilitate essential works, Blackfriars underpass, Upper Thames Street, and Lower Thames Street (between Victoria Embankment and Byward Street) will be closed to eastbound traffic for two nights:
• 22:00 Thursday 24 to 05:00 Friday 25 August
• 22:00 Thursday 31 August to 05:00 Friday 1 September

London Bridge
Tooley Street will be closed in both directions between A3 Borough High Street and Bermondsey Street on two weekends:
• 01:00 Saturday 26 until 05:00 Tuesday 29 August
• 01:00 Saturday 9 until 05:00 Monday 11 September

There will be a full closure of Bermondsey Street from the junction with Tooley Street to the southern end of the tunnel from Saturday 16 September to Friday 29 September.

Albert Embankment
From 07:00 until 13:30 on Saturday 26 August, there will be a northbound lane closure at the junction of Glasshouse Walk. This is due to utility works.

West End
From 07:30 until 15:00 on Saturday 26 August, there will be a southbound lane one closure at the junction of Air Street. This is due to a crane operation.

Clapham Common
From 11:00 Saturday 26 to 23:00 Monday 28 August, Nightingale Lane will be closed to traffic. There will also be temporary traffic lights in operation on Rookery Road between Clapham Common South Side and London Road. Expect larger than normal numbers of pedestrians. This is due to an event.

From midday until 19:00 on Saturday 26, and 13:00 until 20:00 on Sunday 27 August, roads in the area will be busier than usual, including A406, Harrow Road, Wembley High Road and roads around the stadium. This is due to sporting events.

West London
Notting Hill Carnival will take place on August Bank Holiday weekend. There will be major road closures around Notting Hill, Ladbroke Grove and Westbourne Park from 14:00 Saturday 26 until 05:00 Tuesday 29 August.

Staples Corner flyover A406
Staples Corner flyover on the A406 will be reduced to one lane in both directions for four consecutive nights (22:00-05:00) from Monday 28 to Thursday 31 August. This is for refurbishment works.

The flyover will then be closed in both directions during three weekends in September:
• 22:00 Friday 1 to 05:00 Monday 4 September
• 22:00 Friday 8 to 05:00 Monday 11 September
• 00:01–23:59 Sunday 17 September

Please be advised when seeking alternative routes that the railway arches at Staples Corner have a height restriction of 15 feet 9 inches.

City of London
Southbound closures (20:00-05:00) will be in place on A10 King William Street at the junction of London Bridge and Duke Street Hill on the nights of Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 August. This is due to carriageway repair works.

City of London
From Sunday 3 September to Sunday 29 October, A10 Bishopsgate closed southbound between Camomile Street and Threadneedle Street. Diversion via London Wall or Aldgate. This is due to utility works.
