It’s often said that Brits like to moan, particularly about the weather, writes Mark Dealtry, Managing Director of
Referenceline. So, are we fair in the way we write reviews, or are they just an opportunity to complain?
Customers write an average of just under 100 words in their online
reviews about BAR Members, although this can vary from just a
handful of words to over 300. Most ratings are very high, at around
9.7 out of 10.
Unhappy customers tend to write longer reviews. As the number of
words goes over 200, the average rating starts to come down, and
reviews of over 300 words (that’s three times the average!) have an
average rating of just 9.3.
But let’s not forget that this is still a very good rating, as the
vast majority of customers are very pleased with the service they
