France drivers records for vehicles under 3.5tns

An article published on www.trans.info a transport and logistics website indicates that the French are going to start to enforce working / driving time regulations on van drivers up to 3.5tns.   The legislation is not new, but it has, up until now, rarely been enforced.

In a similar way to the Germans requirement to have driving records for vehicles between 2.8-3.5tns, it’s possible drivers could be stopped in France and asked to produce similar records of their working/driving time.

The RHA’s Road Transport Directive Drivers Daily Record Book can be used for working time records, and attached with this email is a sheet that can be used for the driving hours.   Having google, it is possible to purchase a French daily record book if you so wish.

It’s not clear if enforcement will be made on foreign registered vehicles, but at least you have been made aware of the potential issue.
