CMG Annual Seminar – 2023

The Commercial Moving Group of the BAR will be holding its annual Networking and Business Seminar at the Forest of Arden Marriott Country Club in the West Midlands on the 3rd October 2023. The event is open to all BAR members and Young Movers.

Mark your calendars for the eagerly awaited CMG Seminar, scheduled to occur at the conveniently situated Forest of Arden Country Club on Tuesday, October 3rd. This single-day affair welcomes all BAR and Young Movers Group Members and promises a diverse line-up of speakers. Among them, two distinguished keynote speakers will offer attendees exclusive perspectives into the realms of commercial and workplace markets. Drawing from their extensive expertise garnered over numerous years in their respective sectors, these speakers will share invaluable insights that promise to enrich participants’ understanding.

Keynote speaker 1:

Beth Goodyear – What FM’s want from Commercial Moving partners

Beth, an FM Consultant, trainer, and CMotY judge, will provide attendees with a comprehensive insight into the expectations of Facility Managers from their Commercial Moving partners. She will discuss the successful strategies that are currently being implemented, along with areas that require improvement. Furthermore, Beth will highlight the forthcoming challenges that Facility Managers will face and the kind of support they will seek from their service providers. These valuable insights are the culmination of weeks of dedicated work, which involved gathering feedback from over 200 clients spanning both private and public sectors, a majority of whom are Facility Managers. As a result of this extensive effort, participants can expect to leave equipped with a deep understanding of their clients’ needs and effective approaches for personal and online engagement. The session will conclude with an interactive Q&A segment.

Ann Beavis – Sustainability and how it is shaping Commercial Moving 

Ann possesses extensive expertise as a strategic specialist in sustainable business practices, focusing on the establishment and expansion of sustainable and circular business models. Collaborating with diverse clients, including Crown Workspace UKI, Ann will delve into the realm of sustainability within the commercial sector. She will shed light on its implications for CMG Members and their clients, particularly in relation to conscientious business strategies, the evolution of circular and sustainable services, the reduction of carbon emissions from fleets and facilities, and the profound impact these endeavours can have on client acquisition and retention. The session will culminate in an interactive Q&A segment.
