Brexit and International Permits – time to act

Applications for just under 1,000 annual ECMT permits for 2019 will open on the 26 November.

Until told otherwise, international operators should assume that if there is a no-deal Brexit, they will need to use the quota limited “ECMT” permits to access the EU after 29 March 2019. Community licences will remain valid until then.

International operators need to be registered on the DVSA Vehicle Operator Licensing (VOL) online system to make applications. Most Transport Managers will know if their operator is registered, but if you need to check or create an online account you can do that here.

If establishing a new online account, please note that it can take DVSA up to two weeks to process new registrations – so don’t delay if you’re not already registered.

Further information from the RHA is available here.
