BAR Annual Conference 2018

17 – 19 May 2018

Sand, sea and one of the sunniest spots in England. Bournemouth is home to all things nautical, a seven-mile swathe of Blue Flag beaches dotted with quintessentially English beach huts, a traditional pleasure pier and plenty of ice-cream kiosks. This year’s conference is held at the Bournemouth Highcliff Marriott Hotel, a stately Victorian building on a cliff-top overlooking Poole Bay.

The greatly anticipated BAR Golf Challenge, sponsored by Basil Fry, will be held at nearby Purbeck Golf Course and the Tank Museum will play host to this year’s 1940’s fancy dress RBA Party Night, sponsored by PHS Teacrate.

Simon Weston CBE, OBE

In 1982 the Sir Galahad was destroyed in Bluff Cove on the Falkland Islands. On board was Simon Weston, Welsh Guardsman, a name and face that was going to become well known for his struggle to overcome is injuries (46% burns) and redefine his role in life. Simon’s message is one of single-minded determination, to not only accept what is, but to turn that to your advantage. Simon’s own career clearly demonstrates how positive mental attitude can achieve great business goals.
