BAR is delighted to announce winning two prestigious Trade Association Forum (TAF) Best Practice Awards for Website of the Year and Membership Pack of the Year. The winners were announced at the Awards and Networking Dinner at the Plaisterers’ Hall on Thursday 7th July. Over 200 guests witnessed Stephen Vickers (BAR Director General) and Paul Swindon (BAR Commercial Manager) receive the awards from the category sponsors.

The competition, now in its ninth year, recognises, rewards and promotes excellence and best practice amongst professional Trade Associations in the UK. BAR beat off competition from some major organisations to win the two accolades. This marks a significant achievement for BAR and benchmarks the Association against other UK Trade Associations.

BAR won the Website of the Year award, by impressing the Forum’s Final Judging Panel with ‘an easily navigable website with defined sections for both members and consumers being equally well focused.’ The judges also commented that ‘the look and feel of the site is very good and it is clearly effective in promoting the removal industry.’ They cited the online estimating system as a major consideration – ‘the provision of real time quotes to consumers from members results in excellent added value by way of new business for BAR members. The innovative approach of the quick estimation of removal cost for consumers was particularly noteworthy.’

BAR won the Membership Pack of the Year award for a membership pack given to new members to successfully integrate them into membership. The judges looked for a pack that is innovative, creative as well as effectively explaining key association activities and benefits. Judge Ben Turner, Head of Sales for the Institute of Sales & Marketing Management stated that the BAR pack ‘encapsulated everything that is positive about being part of a trade association’ and also commented on the style of communication which ‘helps the member to clearly see what the benefits of membership entail, as well as expressing how much the new member means to the business.’
