Course Overview

This course provides those involved in the moving of furniture with essential manual and furniture handling skills. Those attending the course will learn how to correctly ‘move’ a variety of items including furniture whilst ensuring the risk of injury and damage is minimised at all times. This course is equally suitable for drivers and removals operatives.

• Manual handling – theory including legislation, injury statistics, safe lifting procedure
• Manual handling practical — best practice handling techniques, use of manual handling aids etc.
• Furniture handling – theory, categorising furniture by shape and size, grip methods, protecting customers’ premises
• Practical furniture handling of various items of furniture to simulate real life situations
